Gene Simmons, the bassist and co-leader singer of Kiss, has come out and apparently publicly backed Bitcoin.
The legendary rocker, 71, famed for his wild on-stage performances and extra-long tongue, revealed his cryptocurrency predilections in a tweet earlier this week.
He was responding to an earlier tweet by Cameron Winklevoss (one half of the famed twins known for being Bitcoin ‘whale’ investors and Facebook ‘kind of’ founders) which read: “It’s easier to buy #Bitcoin and Ether if you are already in the old system.
“If you don’t have a bank account, it’s hard to get funds into crypto. We need to change this.”
Simmons replied: “I will. I am.”
His response triggered a tsunami of speculation across the internet about what he actually meant by his slightly cryptic reply.
But many have read it be an endorsement of the number 1 crypto coin, as well as the principle behind decentralised digital currency in general.
As yet Simmons, who also goes by the moniker ‘The Demon’, has not elaborated on the tweet despite dozens of replies urging him to explain exactly what he meant by it.
